Welcome back after Thanksgiving! We had some tired kids in the hallway, but with the weather being so nice today, they perked up after being outside for recess. I love holiday time but I also realize that it can be extremely stressful for both parents and kids. Our counseling staff (Mr. Collins and Mrs. Jensen) have been very active in reaching out to families, but are still looking for Lakewood families who may need gift cards and/or Christmas items. If you are a family in need please call them for support. We take so much pride in networking with the community in order to help our families. The churches of Norwalk have been wonderful in partnering with us to provide the needed help!
All students have completed their benchmark tests in reading. WOW! I am amazed at the improvement from the first test. As an instructional leader, I will continue to push the Lakewood teachers to emphasize the strategies and skills needed to become a better reader.
I visited with Matt Farver, construction superintendent, about the Lakewood project. Hear first hand about the project from Matt
